Line and Hardware

Lines and Hardware

Deck layout, sail & trim controls, running rigging, winch servicing

Sailing any boat well requires lines and hardware that facilitate proper sail trim.  At PTR we trust that if sailing is easy our clients will sail their boats rather than motor.

We never approach a boat with a one size fits all formula.  We work to match the clients needs and abilities with any recommendation we make & any equipment we install.

In addition to reducing friction by creating clean leads, proper sizing of hardware and line the actual installation needs to be expertly done.  Installation of parts on boat decks need to be leak proof done with an understanding of boat construction. To achieve this result we implement a variety of techniques including G10 plugs and epoxy pots.

Running Rigging

We stock a wide selection of high quality rope. We will help you choose the right line for your rig and your sailing needs. We offer in-house splicing and finishing of all types of line.

PTR offers rope selection from Samson, Robline, and Marlow

Lifelines & parts  Ordering new

Complete inventory of CS Johnson & Hayn hardware as well as coated and uncoated lifeline wire. All lifeline fittings are machine swaged in house to strict standards.

The easiest way to order new lifelines is to remove them and have us duplicate them.

  • First ensure all stanchions are securely in place.
  • Mark the threads with tape to show how the lifelines are properly adjusted on your boat.
  • Remove and send the old ones to us. We will ship a new set, usually within a day or two.
  • Measure each side independently with a metal measuring tape. Do not use string or fabric tapes.
  • Note the correct diameter and direction of the thread for all studs and adjusters.

Use our Lifeline Measurement Form or contact us with any questions.
